Odd lessons at massage therapy schools!
Obviously when you work your way through one of the many therapeutic massage courses, you expect to have to learn everything directly related to massaging a client, anatomy, physiology, pathology, dermatology, massage technique etc but there are some subjects you might be surprised at having to learn. These include (but not an exhaustive list) public health/hygiene, legal issues like employment law, accountancy like bookkeeping etc etc. You have to be able to show you can cope with the academic side of the massage course before you can enrol. Don’t get disheartened if you at first fail to meet the minimum academic qualifications required by the massage school because sometimes they allow you to take other courses at the same time as the main massage courses so you can catch up. It simply means you have to work harder.
