Anyone know a good site with info on backyard breeders?
Im doing a paper for school and I am looking for info on whats considered a backyard breeder and what they do wrong that messes with dogs health.

http://dogplay.com/Breeding/ethics.html
http://www.prisonersofgreed.org/
http://www.thewrongpuppy.org/news.htm
I do want to point out that some BYB’s do actually health tests for inherited diseases. But, they are still violating the basic breeding ethic of ONLY breeding to improve the breed and to create the perfect dog.

Unfortunately as l do not know what country you are from it is difficult to lead you in the right direction but l would google it first. To give you a head start a backyard breeder is someone who has manged to get a few different breeds and breeds them indiscriminately that is he does not care what goes with what as he is for the money and nothing else. Many of these people are well aware that people want ‘designer dogs’ which are purely crossbreeds and mongrels. He does not need to register his dogs with the appropriate dog body, usually never inoculates and the conditions these dogs live in are appalling.Females are bred every 6 mths and if they outlive their usefulness are disposed of and l do not mean re-housed.They often provide puppies to pet shop although the Pet mills mainly do this as the backyard breeder are usually a smaller concern and most countries are trying to get rid of them but it is very difficult. The puppies that come from the places are usually worm ridden and flea ridden and have poor nutrition or social skills.Do not believe the ads they publish as they are lies. That should give you a head start
