Is 21 shots something to worry about? Could someone give me a link to a site with info about it?
My older brother turned 21, self explatory there. My mom is worried about whether or not the number of shots he took could lead to alcohol poisening.
Well, it depends what the shots are made off. 21 shot glasses of beer will not do damage. If you are planning on giving him 21 shots of tequila, I suggest giving him 21 shots of lead, you’ll kill him faster. The blood will be hard to clean thou.

Of course it could. Do you know how much alcohol is in 21 shots? Approximately a bottle and a half of liquor (doesn’t matter which kind). An average person usually does not survive on that much alcohol as their blood alcohol level would exceed 0.4 (which is typically fatal). Luckily, most people pass out before they achieve that 21 shots goal… but they could still get alcohol poisoning.
Your mom has every right to worry if your brother is planning on doing something so dangerous. Basically, he could die.
I recently watched an episode of a show called "The Doctors" (it’s on NBC every weekday at 3pm/et). You might want to look up the show and watch the episode about the 21 shots thing. It will open your eyes to exactly what could and does happen. Scary stuff.

Of course it is dangerous! Unless he spaces it out over the whole day, he is basically guaranteed to get alcohol poisoning. Anything over 4 drinks in an hour for a male is considered binge drinking. Drinking 21 could easily cause permanent liver damage, coma, and death.

If he is still alive now he probably will remain that way unless he chokes on vomit or something.
Even spacing them out over a whole night is not really safe. People die when they do them too fast.

Alcohol poisoning happens. Watch for excessive vomiting (some is to be expected), and passing out. Many people get alcohol poisoning and recover without even a trip to the hospital, but it can be lethal.
Watch for:
* Mental confusion, stupor, coma, or person cannot be roused.
* Vomiting.
* Seizures.
* Slow breathing (fewer than eight breaths per minute).
* Irregular breathing (10 seconds or more between breaths).
* Hypothermia (low body temperature), bluish skin color, paleness.
