Katherine Varjian, a 65 year old woman may face jail time for feeding hungry, abandoned stray cats in the City of Beverly Hills. Ms. Varjian has been feeding and spaying / neutering cats in a specific area of Beverly Hills working to reduce the number of homeless animals born there. She should be applauded for her efforts instead of possibly being sent to jail. Many citizens and humane advocates support Ms. Varjian’s efforts. We ask that Beverly Hills citizens reconsider the way they look at animals that for one reason or the other were dumped onto city streets or were left unsteralized, thus becoming pregnant and bringing new kittens onto the streets. Ms. Varjian is working to REDUCE the tax burden on citizens for the cost of capture, holding, feeding and in most cases, killing animals in our shelter system. Prevention is the answer. Also, these cats provide a FREE service – pest control that you can’t find in a bottle or through a pest control company.
I hope that the Beverly Hills Conference and Visitors Center will also support Ms. Varjian and show the world who comes from far and wide to shop, dine and be entertained in the City, that Beverly Hills cares for ALL its inhabitants… even if they don’t live in a mansion, stay in a 5 star hotel or do business on Rodeo Drive.

There was a Beverly Hills City Council meeting on 7/7/09 to put in language that will make it illegal to feed stray cats in which 3 residents supported not feeding the strays and there were about 100 people including many residents who supported Ms. Varjian’s efforts and TNR. Included among the supporters was probably an unprecedented turnout of representatives from many animal organizations including Kitten Rescue, Stray Cat Alliance, Coalition of Feral Cat Caretakers, In Defense of Animals, Last Chance for Animals, Best Friends and the Humane Society of the United States.
The Beverly Hills City council appeared to be wanting to be a humane compassionate city but also appeared to be confused and not educated on the issues, despite an outpouring of ideas and offers from the humane community.

This tool-assisted speedrun aims to complete The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time in as little time as possible, while getting every Spiritual Stone and Medallion, and completing every Trial in Ganon’s Castle. The author does this by exploiting many tricks and glitches, which would not be seen in a modern any% run.
This run was made on an emulator, with slowdown, frame-by-frame shooting, savestates and rerecords. It is NOT meant to show skill, but rather the game pushed to its limits. It is only supposed to provide entertainment. You must bear this in mind when watching this video, or any TAS, for that matter.
A lot of effort was put into this run. It is the result of many long months of tedious testing and optimal playing, but it has certainly payed off. When commenting, consider the amount of effort and time it would take to make a run like this. It’s not worthless because it wasn’t done on a console. Tool-assisted speedruns are arguably more difficult to do well than real speedruns, due to how difficult it is to achieve perfection and still make it look entertaining.
Any anti-TAS comments (these include comments like “do it on a console, then I’ll be impressed,” “you suck for using an emulator,” “cheater,” etc) WILL be deleted on sight, and the poster will be permanently blocked from posting comments at any of my videos, or on my channel. I will not tolerate such a dispicable disregard for another person’s determination and thoughtfulness for making a run like this. Please keep the discussion of TAS versus non-TAS to a minimum. Try to appreciate each category for what they are.
As for my own thoughts on the run, well, I won’t go into much detail, but I will say that this is, without a doubt, my favourite TAS to date.

The US Department of Homeland (In)Security is developing a system designed to detect “hostile thoughts” in people walking through border posts, airports and public places. Project Hostile Intent as it was called aimed to help security staff choose who to pull over for a gently probing interview – or more.
Commentators slated the idea that sensors could spot people up to no good from their pulse rate, breathing, skin temperature, or fleeting facial expressions. One likened it to the “pre-crime” units that predict criminal behaviour in the movie Minority Report.
However, last week, the DHS science unit gave an update on the project, now dubbed the less-hostile-sounding Future Attribute Screening Technologies (FAST) programme. And, if DHS claims are to be believed, the research appears to be getting somewhere.
At an equestrian centre in Maryland, 140 paid volunteers walked through a pair of trailers kitted out with a battery of FAST sensors, including cameras, infrared heat sensors and an eyesafe laser radar, called a Bio-Lidar, that measures pulse and breathing rate from a distance.
Some subjects were told to act shifty, be evasive, deceptive and hostile. And many were detected. “We’re still very early on in this research, but it is looking very promising,” says DHS science spokesman John Verrico. “We are running at about 78% accuracy on mal-intent detection, and 80% on deception.”
