This lesson on Mind Bites includes three version of this song, you’ll learn the alphabet hand shapes, sounds of the alphabet and signs for the song.

This is the American version of a song we use in class to help children learn their ABCs. It includes the hand shapes for the American Sign Language alphabet. We wanted to have a song then went slow enough for the kids to be able to sing and sign and ultimately learn their letters.

We use this song in our classes to teach older kids the sounds the letters make. If you teach it in conjunction with the ASL hand shapes then the child learns to recognize the hand shape and the sound that goes with it. You can then start putting the letters together to form words.
